The holiday is expected to fall in mid-June, marking the UAE’s next significant public holiday. But when exactly will Eid al Adha occur, and when will we have official confirmation?

The moon-sighting process, which determines the holiday dates, took place last night. Saudi Arabia has declared June 16, Sunday as the first day of Eid. The Saudi Supreme Court declared, “Tomorrow, Friday, marks the start of the month of Dhul-Hijjah, and the standing at Arafat will take place on Saturday, June 15, 2024.

However, Oman has declared the first day of Eid as Monday, June 17, so UAE residents will need to await confirmation from local authorities.

Arafat Day and Eid al Adha are the third and fourth major public holidays this year, following New Year’s Day and Eid al Fitr. The following are important dates to note on your calendar:
