Strict Penalties for Illegal Pilgrim Transport in Saudi Arabia
Enforcement of Pilgrimage Regulations Begins June 2
From June 2 to June 20, Saudi Arabia is rigorously applying penalties for any violations concerning the Haj pilgrimage.. According to an official announcement on Friday, eight individuals were recently detained for transporting 28 pilgrims who did not have valid Haj permits.
Arrests and Fines
The detained individuals include three expatriates and five citizens. Each person has been fined 10,000 Saudi riyals (approximately Dh9,700) for every unauthorized pilgrim transported, amounting to a total fine of 280,000 Saudi riyals (about Dh274,210). Additionally, these individuals face 15 days in jail and will have their vehicles confiscated, as stated by the Ministry of Interior on social media platform X.
